The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant

June 8, 2025 | Pastor John Starr

Forgiveness is at the heart of kingdom living, as Jesus illustrated in the Parable of the Unforgiving Servant. Like Taka in ‘Mufasa,’ unforgiveness begins as a small seed but can grow to consume our identity if left unchecked. When we receive God’s immense forgiveness for our sins, we’re called to extend that same grace to others. Holding onto unforgiveness takes deeper root over time, defiles us from within, affects all our relationships, and wastes our God-given potential. The challenge is to lay down unforgiveness at Jesus’ feet—not because others deserve it, but because we’ve been forgiven of so much.
